  16. WinAlter may be distributed freely as shareware without charge as
  17. long as all files are kept together and are unaltered.  That includes
  18. WINALTER.EXE, WAMANUAL.TXT, WINALTER.INI, and this WINALTER.TXT file.

  20. distribution without permission of the author is prohibited.  That includes
  21. any retail sale of shareware or public domain software except 
  22. where the shareware concept is clearly understood.

  30. Like many Windows programs, WinAlter needs the file VBRUN300.DLL
  31. in order to run.  Put it in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.  Chances are,
  32. you probably have VBRUN300.DLL.  If not, it is readily available from
  33. most on-line services, bulletin boards, and software and shareware dealers.
  34. WinAlter will not install without this file in the SYSTEM directory first.

  36. WinAlter works with the WINALTER.EXE file in any directory. The WINALTER.INI
  37. file goes in the \WINDOWS directory. The installation program creates a
  38. WINALTER directory and places the files in the correct directory.
  39.  
  40. To install and run WinAlter, Click on the Program Manager "File" menu. 
  41. Choose "Run" and enter "SETUP.EXE," including the drive and directory
  42. the install progam is in. You may also install the program by locating
  43. the WinAlter SETUP.EXE program using your File Manager or Windows
  44. Explorer and double-clicking on the "SETUP.EXE" name in the list.

  47. clicking on the "Help" menu on the WinAlter main screen. More detailed
  48. instructions are also found in the WAMANUAL.TXT file. (If you get an error
  49. message when you first run WinAlter, see the WAMANUAL.TXT file for common
  50. causes for error messages.)

  115. have averaged a 70 point increase on the Verbal Portion of the

  117. all IBM-compatible computers with 512K RAM and 700K disk storage.

  122.     Vanquish Your Anguish on the Math Portion of the SAT and similar tests
  123.  
  124. The companion program to VERBAL VANQUISH, MATH VANQUISH gives you
  125. what you need to do your best on the Math portion of the SAT,
  126. ACT, GRE, and similar exams.  Once again, the emphasis is on
  127. strategy.  Students tutored using similar strategies have
  128. increased their scores an average of 80 points on the Math Portion
  129. of the SAT.  (Together with the Verbal lessons, that is an
  130. average increase of 150 points per SAT!)  Same computer
  131. requirements as above except that an EGA or higher monitor is
  132. required.  Updated for the new SAT-I and PSAT.  (Ask about CGA
  133. and mono version of program, if you need them).

  139. This Windows program converts the old (1941-1994) SAT and PSAT scores
  140. to the new "recentered" SAT-I scores and vice versa. Easy to use.
  141. Available as Bannerware from many online services, bulletin boards, and
  142. shareware dealers. Also available from author.
